Polk SurroundBar 6000 Instant Home Theater Remote Input Change Fix

We bought a Polk SurroundBar 6000 Instant Home Theater soundbar a while back, and it is awesome. It sounds absolutely great for the money. The only complaint that I have with it is that the soundbar will frequently change inputs, mute, or power off when I am trying to adjust its volume with our Tivo remote. I have lived with this for quite sometime. I had tried a couple of Google searches previously to see if someone had a fix for it to no avail. Last night I was fed up with it, so I tried another Google search. I didn't find a fix, but I found info that led me to come up with my own. So here it is. The IR sensor for the soundbar is located behind the black mesh screen. I theorized that it might be making an interference pattern that was causing the problems. I removed the screen, and it has worked perfectly ever since. It doesn't look as nice; so, I think I will use my drill press and drill a hole in the screen where the sensor is located. To remove the screen, I got a small flathead screwdriver and started prying on a corner on the left side of the front on a corner. I then worked my way to the other side. There was a little bit of black glue holding it on, but it doesn't look like it needs it. I believe it will go on with no problems when I am done. UPDATE 10/22/2013: I reinstalled the grill / cover after removing a small piece of the cloth backing covering the back of it. That allows the speaker cover to be on and the problem has not come back. In our living room which has bright light, you don't even notice that small piece of fabric has been removed. A total, easy fix!!!! :-) I hope this helps someone else out there!
